We offer an affordable option and we are here to support you in reviewing your finances and income sources to find a solution that works for you.
Resident Fee Schedule
Our Monthly Rate is set according to the Level of Care being utilized by the resident. This is assessed during admissions, and also on an ongoing basis. Our Resident Assistants (LNAs and RAs) provide whatever is needed at all times, and the Clinical Manager reviews individual cases annually and updates any lasting changes as needed. A shift to a new Level of Care is considered in coordination with the Executive Director, Business Manager, and family.
All rooms in Bradley House are private and include a personal bathroom. Suites include both a bedroom and a living room.

Can I afford Bradley House?
How do your rates compare to other living options?
Bradley House is uniquely affordable. Rates are all-inclusive and include all meals, utilities, personal care, and transportation. For comparison, a private room in a nursing home costs two to three times as much as our single rooms. A home health aide, combined with the costs of maintaining a home, can also have a higher monthly rate than a room in our homes. As a non-profit, our mission is to be accessible and affordable while providing the best possible community environment.
What services do you get at each level?
Every resident gets whatever they need. Staff don’t know residents’ daily rates, they simply do whatever is needed and requested. The Nurse and the Director periodically quantify the Level of Care being provided to be sure it is accurate and will review with the family if an adjustment is needed.
Are you a non-profit?
Yes, we are a 501(c)3 "public charity" organization. We are mission-driven rather than profit-driven, and we’ve been serving the community for over 125 years.
Does insurance cover the costs?
Medicare does not but long-term care insurance policies often cover some or all of the costs of residential care. Vermont also has a special Medicaid program called Choices for Care that can help. In addition to financially qualifying for long-term care Medicaid, care needs must be high enough to qualify for a nursing home, but care can be delivered in our more home-like atmosphere. Most residents pay for their care with their own funds.
What if we run out of money?
Most residents rely on a combination of income and assets to pay for their care. If they exhaust their assets and their income does not cover the monthly fee, as long as they’ve been at the Home for three years or more, they pay what they can (according to a state formula), and apply for Medicaid, which will reimburse us a small amount. Kind donors help subsidize the rest.
